What is the difference between a clustered and a non-clustered index?
Model answer
A clustered index defines the physical order of rows in the table, so there is only one per table (as in SQL Server and InnoDB's primary key). A non-clustered index is a separate structure with pointers to the rows, and a table can have many. Terms and behaviour differ between databases.
